Great Blue Hole, Belize

The Great Blue Hole is an amazing diving location off the coast of Belize. Situated in the center of Lighthouse Reef, the Great Blue Hole is an underwater sinkhole. Because the hole is surrounded by the reef, this dive is known to be darker and more serene than other open-water spots. The geology of the sinkhole has resulted in eye-catching rock formations like stalactites and stalagmites. The Great Blue Hole is also home to several species of shark and other fish. The best time to embark on this stunning dive is in spring to early summer.

Similan Islands National Park, Thailand

The Similan Islands are a national park located in the Andaman Sea, off Thailand’s west coast. The islands are home to some impressive coral reefs on the eastern edges, and the western sides of the islands are more rocky. With over 20 dive sites on the islands, there are great opportunities to see incredibly varied geography within a small area. The national park is closed during Thailand’s rainy summer season, so dives must be scheduled between October and May.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most famous and most beloved scuba destinations in the world. It is Earth’s largest coral reef system, and as a result there are many diving sites scattered along Australia’s coast. The Great Barrier Reef is a phenomenal display of nature. The reef is home to an unparalleled ecosystem of colorful corals and more than 1,500 varieties of fish. The best time of year to dive is during Australia’s winter, from May to October.

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Part of Ecuador’s territory, the Galapagos Islands are famous for their amazing biodiversity and species of animals found nowhere else on Earth. On an excursion to the Galapagos, you may see some of the animals made famous by Charles Darwin. There are many dive sites where you are likely to see fish, sharks, turtles, and manta rays. The best times to scuba dive are between June and October.

With so many breathtaking diving destinations around the globe, it can be hard to pick just one! Will you consider one of these locations for your next dive?
