From a young age, Misha Peleg adored animals. As a small child, he was forever dragging home bedraggled cats and dogs which he then worked tirelessly to convince his friends to adopt. As an adult, the soft spot in his heart for animals continues to grow. But now the successful entrepreneur and businessman works anonymously behind the scenes to make the lives of animals better.
Misha is a devoted animal lover and an often anonymous philanthropist whose generous financial backing has supported everything from rescuing animals displaced during wildfires to financing no-kill animal shelters for cats and dogs across the globe.
Animal cruelty is a sore spot for Misha who also supports numerous law enforcement agencies that operate divisions dedicated to punishing animal cruelty and rescuing pets that have been subjected to horrible conditions. Animal hoarding, dog baiting and cock fighting are some of the horrors that Misha denounces regularly when he speaks about his love for animals and the victimization of innocent creatures.
His concern for mistreated pets stemmed from childhood but took root as a young adult when he began volunteering at a local animal shelter. Misha Peleg was touched by the seemingly endless stream of unwanted pets that were abandoned, abused and neglected, dropped off by owners, or picked up as strays. He spent years of his youth walking dogs, grooming cats, cleaning cages and advocating for adoption to make life better for an unwanted pet population that he felt was largely invisible to the public.
After founding several highly successful companies, Misha Peleg had the means to support causes that were dear to his heart. Animals and the environment were among his top concerns and he immediately began educating himself on community initiatives, law enforcement efforts, nationwide programs and rescue groups.
He continues to explore new ways he can support animals, including endangered species and wildlife in general with particular emphasis on species that have been displaced by the raging wildfires around the world. The plight of the koala bears in Australia because of wildfires has been a source of great concern for Misha, who has visited some of the devastated areas that were once burgeoning habits for the small marsupials.
He has also shown great interest in helping to protect endangered manatees, which are often killed by careless boaters who ignore “no wake” zones. Offending boaters speed through waterways populated by the slow-moving sea cows, fatally slashing them with their boat propellors.
Misha Peleg’s goal is to anonymously support endangered species, dogs and cats that are slated for kill shelters and wildlife that has been displaced by gigantic wildfires. He believes that everyone can help because no action is too small to make a difference.
Misha Peleg is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. Having founded several highly successful companies since the early 1990s, he uses his business success to support a wide range of non-profit organizations throughout the world.
